All right.
So here's the deal.
Only one third of all traditional projects are successful.
Think about that for a minute.
That means that about 70% of all projects,
including your projects,
fail.
We're here to change that number.
We need to rethink our way of working,
especially when we're working with projects.
The way we perform in projects
obviously affects how companies perform,
and the way companies perform obviously impacts our societies.
If we take a look at the biggest economy in Europe,
Germany,
a total of 34% of the GDP comes directly from projects.
So just imagine how much it affects the German economy,
whether projects succeed or not.
If projects fail, economies fail.
And this is just one example of how important projects are for us.
That is why we really need to shake things up.
Because only 36% of all projects being executed end up as successful.
We believe we can do better than that,
and we need to do better than that.
But why should you care?
Just for a second,
imagine the waste of resources and potential
value for societies where we're missing.
out on.
And on a personal note,
we all know how frustrating it is to work on a
project that ends up creating no difference at all.
The feeling of lack of progression,
of waste, of setback.
As project managers working with projects for so many years,
we have felt this frustration way too often.
Therefore,
we decided to join forces with three universities and
25 of the most talented project managers in Denmark.
Quickly,
the community grew to two thousand
five hundred five hundred passionate project managers
helping to co-create the methodology.
We started to apply the methodology to some
of their projects to make sure it worked.
We wanted to drastically change the way we work with projects.
We wanted to enable project managers to
realize their full potential and create impact.
And we wanted to create a project methodology that truly works,
not just in theory,
but in real life projects.
We call it half double.
87% of the projects using the half double
approach have turned out to be successful.
87%. That is a massive improvement from the
previously mentioned success rate of only a third.
And please bear in mind,
this is measured in realizing business success criteria,
such as decreased cost or increased
revenue or accelerated time to market.
So what do we do so differently in half double projects?
We keep it real.
We keep it simple.
Half double.
Half double is founded upon three principles.
Impact,
flow and leadership.
Impact is all about navigating the
projects toward a given value creation.
Flow is about making sure the project has a weekly progression,
giving us the opportunity to speed up the project.
Leadership is about embracing the uncertainty
inbound in all projects while making sure all
stakeholders are on board in a collaborative effort.
We focus our effort and attention into nine
tools and methods that really make a difference.
16 pilot projects in 16 different organizations proved that
we could double the impact in projects in only half the time.
That's why we call it half double.
There's only one way to start managing projects in
a way that is proven to deliver greater success.
