After this on point, we aim to give you valuable insights on how to improve and or maintain your ecovudis score. Therefore, Clara and I have prepared an agenda for today. We will go through our mission as ecovudis training partners and where we can help and how you can help and how we can help you with the ecovudis assessment. We're going to do a brief recap on the webinar that we ran last time, which was an introduction to the ecovudis assessment. So for for those of you who are not there, we will do a short recap. Then Clara will talk about the ecovudis scoring medal and the evolving system that ecovudis is now. She will also give example of the improvement points. And then I will take it back. I will be back here with you on stage to talk a little bit about supplier engagement benefits of using the ecovudis assessment. And then we're going to look beyond using ecovudis as only a scoring system. So what can you use ecovudis for more than just a scoring system for your company? Lastly, we will take the key takeaways from today's session and we will have time for a short Q&A. So please, if there is any questions that you would like to have an answer to, type it in the chat and Clara and I will make sure we will follow up. So as ecovudis training partners, we have a personal mission to help company going through and improve their ecovudis assessment with hands on and know how support. And why is that? It is because we have expertise on how to work with sustainability across different geographies and industry. We are part of the energy and climate team here in implement working with all the holistic aspect of sustainability across the ESG spectrum. We want to bring and we bring to the table our own implement way of working where we work together with you to go through the ecovudis assessment to make what best for you and your company and not just to work for you for answering the questioner. We also love to support in the implementation. And our goal, especially for this webinar, is to explain how can we help you going beyond the medal score. The medal score received or improve your medal score if needed. Before we dig into the juicy part of our webinar, I am super curious to know if you have worked with an ecovudis assessment result before. You should now have a poll appearing on your screen where you have four options. First, I have never done an ecovudis assessment. I have never done an ecovudis assessment before. Number two, I have been through the assessment but never analyzed the results. Number three, I have worked with the results but with teeny tiny success. Or lastly, I know my way through the interpretation and the score, but I'm here to hear if there is any improvement I can make. So please take your time to answer the poll so I can see more or less where our audience questions stands today. All right. So I can see that around 54% of you have actually never done an ecovudis assessment. And that is totally okay. We will do a short wrap up. And of course, if there is also further interest, interest in understanding a little bit more of the basics, we are very happy to follow up with you and attach to a follow up email and material, send you the link to our previous webinar, where you can learn a lot more about the details of the webinar. But I can also see that 31% of you have been through the assessment but never analyzed the results. So definitely, this is the right place for you to be where Clara and Clara are. So I will guide you through what having the results. And for all of you who have worked with the results with little success or know their way to interpretate the score. We also have something special for you today. And we hope that this can at least help you driving your way through your next assessment. Now I'm going to close the poll. So thank you so much for leaning in and voting around this. I would like now to quickly recap. our three key takeaways from our past webinar. Firstly, ecovudis is the most used business sustainability rating. That means that when choosing an assessment like ecovudis means that a lot of other companies are actually in the world currently using ecovudis. We are talking about more than 100,000 companies worldwide. And this assessment, it's comparable across industry and regions. Secondly, ecovudis. Secondly, ecovudis create opportunities to learn and improve certain sustainability aspects. As we like to say, getting through an assessment is not your landing point. Getting through an assessment is your starting point. To start learning where you can improve around sustainability and the aspect of the ESG. Thirdly, ecovudis enable monitoring and engagement with suppliers. And we will touch base on the on this during the last part of the last part of our webinar. What we talked about in the first webinar was how valuable the ecovudis monitoring system is to actually engage dialogue with your suppliers, setting targets with your suppliers to work together within your supply chain. Because as we know, and as I will repeat during this webinar, sustainability is not a one way go forward. It's a collaborative effort. to achieve both parties involved results. With that said, I would like to strongly emphasize on what ecovudis is. Ecovudis medal or score. So once you have gone through your assessment and you achieve a medal or a score is not at all an endorsement of a company, its product or service. And it does not indicate at all. that your specific company, its product or service are sustainable. An ecovudis medal or score recognizes instead companies that have completed the ecovudis assessment process successfully and have demonstrated a relatively strong management system that address sustainability criteria and through which then you can work to achieve even further sustainability results. With all said, I now leave the stage to my colleague, Clara, which will guide you through the next part of our own point. Thank you, Beatrice. And good to be back. I think it's really interesting that 50% of you have not or never done an ecovudis assessment. So I think in this next part, we would like to also just take you through some of the basics that we also captured in the first webinar before we dive into, let's say, more the improvement journeys and some of the things that we have done in the first webinar. So when you have decided to do or go for an ecovudis assessment, you will be faced with this reference model that consists of four main pillars and a total of 21 evaluation criteria. And the four pillars are environment, sustainable procurement, ethics and labour and human rights. And as you see on the slide, we will be able to get into the next webinar. So if you have a question on the right side, we also like to refer to what we call a generic column or a generic category, let's say, at implement. It's not something that ecovudis has named themself, but it is to showcase that ecovudis is also looking more generally at how you manage your sustainability management system when it comes to, for example, your endorsements, your external endorsements, so whether or not you are, for example, committed to the science-based target initiative or whether you're going And the overall objective of ecovudis and the methodology is to measure the quality of your company's sustainability management system, which Beatrice also mentioned already before. And that is measured through the policies, actions and results that you can indicate throughout these different areas. I really strongly want to highlight that the questionnaire will not be the same for every company. So depending whether or not you are a small company or a large company, so depending on the size, the industry that you're in and the location, your your your your scoring or your your questionnaire will look different. But what how do you actually fill out this questionnaire? So you get a questionnaire online on the ecovudis platform that you're going to fill out as a company. And once you're done, you've done with this, you will have around eight to 10 weeks where ecovudis will look into how you've done and will come back to you with a scoring card. So this is what we we see here on the next page. As you see to the right, your score will be indicated across the four different pillars. So across environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. And you will also get an overall score of zero to 100. And I think it's very important here to highlight that the score is going to be weighted. Once it's going to be weighted between the policies, the actions and the KPIs. So a company's actions usually is the one thing that counts for the largest part of your score compared to the other two management systems. And of course, depending on the industry that you're in, some of these weightings for these categories might differ. So if you're a manufacturing company is having a lot of scope one emissions, you your environmental category will be more important towards your overall score. Before we dive into, let's say some of the improvement areas and how you can work with ecovudis, we want to highlight some of the changes that ecovudis has recently announced for 2022. And I think these are mainly important for especially the people, of course, that have already done or been through an assessment. So first of all, ecovudis is going to adjust their ecovudis medal program. And secondly, ecovudis is going to add some additional what they call batches. For the first point, the main change is going to be that previously actually the 50 top percent of the companies would receive a medal ranging from bronze to platinum. But now only the top 35th percentile will receive a medal. And secondly, you're going to have both a fast mover batch and a commitment batch that ecovudis has recently added. But what does this actually mean for you? So what does this mean for your business? First of all, it means that it will be harder to receive a medal, especially a bronze or a silver medal. And if you've been through the assessment before, you might lose a medal. And I think this is where I just want to pause and highlight, it's going to be really important for the people that go through a reassessment with ecovudis, that they do not stop and think that with the same thing that they're going to submit, they can achieve the same medal again. So going through this improvement the same journal will be really crucial to in general, in general, continue on your ecovudis journey. And thirdly, but not last, you will actually be awarded for remarkable and fast improvements. Secondly, ecovudis is also going to change their overall scorecard. So in order to increase transparency for companies, the scorecard will be that is going to have, let's say, a bigger range that they're going to showcase on their seven management indicators, which are policies, endorsements, measures, certifications, coverage, reporting, and the 360 watch. So that means that as a company, you can actually better understand both what lies behind your assessment, but also give you clearer guidance on where you should improve or which areas you should focus on for your improvement journey. For the people that have not gone through an ecovudis assessment before, let me just recap briefly how the ecovudis scoring formula works. So you're going to be scored within the three different areas that are policies, actions, and results that are made up of the seven different management indicators. And of course, this framework ensures that there's a consistency across both peers and industry when you are rated through ecovudis. But now I want to highlight some of the few and give you some ideas of how you can improve on your ecovudis journey to, for example, get a better score or also increase the medal that you've received. So here are a few examples of the common shortcomings you should be aware of or that we sometimes see companies not being aware of. So under the environmental pillar, we often see that companies lack supporting documentations on, let's say, the coverage of environmental actions throughout the company's operations. Secondly, we see that a lot of companies do not do a third-party verification when it comes to the GHG emission reporting. You might also have some lacking KPIs when it comes to, for example, the total weight of waste recovered. And when we look at the lower two, so sustainable procurement, we also often see that companies do not have an assurance when it comes to the sustainability report or don't have a conclusive documentation from their suppliers. I know this was a few examples and I want for this session just to highlight one specific aspect and give some examples. So I'm going to focus on the first part, strengthening your documentation surrounding your environmental actions. For example, as a manufacturing company, it could be in the area of energy efficiency. You should, as a company, for example, focus on improving your data quality around energy efficiency. So that means starting to track also your energy savings potential or in general track these KPIs. Secondly, you can also start looking at employee training. So for example, you can help your employees to understand what they should do in order to ensure that they are going to save money. So you can also save energy in general by switching off machines or doing other type of things. And lastly, you can of course also look into third party verification to overall build trust and credibility around your sustainability actions. Okay, some common pitfalls that we see and that we just want to highlight here. First of all, use your documents wisely. We often see that companies make small edits just to make the documents fit to make small edits for using them to make small edits. We have a new document. We also know how to make small edits. We also know how to make small edits. We make small edits to the equipment to make small edits. We also encourage you to overall more holistically work on your documentation and your sustainability management program. Secondly, a metal is a starting point, not an end point. As Beatrice also mentioned before, companies sometimes strive for certain metal and once they've reached that, they stop. And we really think it's important that you continuously work on your sustainability journey to make these incremental updates. improvements. And thirdly, Ecovartis is not a compliance tool. Please try to integrate Ecovartis into your overall sustainability strategy of your company and don't just use it as a compliance exercise because a supplier or someone else has asked you to go through this process. And with that I'm going to hand it back over to Bertris who is going to take you through the supplier engagement benefits. Thanks Clara. All right, let's move forward towards the end of our webinar where I would like to emphasize on the benefit and influence that Ecovartis can have on your value chain, both upstream and downstream. If we look upstream, for example, towards your supply chain, for you as a company that has been through an Ecovartis assessment and that uses Ecovartis with your suppliers, it's easier to evaluate and choose your supplier when screening for sustainability criteria. You can easily monitor supplier sustainability data by requesting your supplier to be assessed by Ecovartis, for example. In this way, you can work together with your supplier requesting specific area score, set targets, support on the sustainability dialogue to achieve both parties' benefits. As I mentioned, and as we know today, sustainability is not only a one-way effort. But then let's look a little bit towards your client relationship instead. We see more and more companies requesting their suppliers for the Ecovartis score. And one of the supplier could be you. Having gone through an Ecovartis assessment better position you to discuss benefits and targets. In fact, you showcase credibility, increasing trust in relation to your sustainability effort, and you showcase, depending on your your client's perspective on the score, a good data management system, a good data management system for sustainability. So think about these parameters when you think about what should be my next assessment or sustainability holistic certification I would like to go through. We have briefly told that you can use Ecovartis to work with your supplier. And here I have a little bit of details on how actually Ecovartis helps you to do it. There is a Rate My Trading Partner features on the Ecovartis platform that it's available to hold certain type of subscribers. And how does it work? It helps you identify trading partners to invite, send introductory email to your trading partners. It invites your trading partners through the Ecovartis platform. And the most important, at least for us, review results and plan next steps with your trading partners. The feature allows you to request assessment from a minimum to five of your own trading partners up to multiple depending on your subscription. There is also access to a subset of sustainable supply chain portfolio management features. Like as I mentioned, one of the key is the monitoring progress of your invited trading partners. View scorecards of your trading partners, including benchmarking benchmarking and data and access, strengthen and improving areas as well as the 360 watch, which is a feature that Ecovartis use to screen the company that goes through the Ecovartis assessment on the web. So whatever has been told around your company. On top of everything, and here we talk a little bit about going beyond Ecovartis as a scoring system. I would like to present to you three of some of the features that Ecovartis offer to most members and two of them instead are for premium suppliers. The Academy. So for all the ones going through Ecovartis assessment and payer subscription model, you will have access to meaningful courses that you can take and you can also, for example, the one we have on the slide here, the buyer procurement courses that you can release with some of your colleagues or employees to actually educate them, as Clara mentioned, around sustainable procurement. Then we have two powerful features that are only available for premium subscribers, the Carbon Action module and the Carbon Heatmap. The Carbon Heatmap is part of the Carbon Action module. And if you are interested in learning more about these two particular features, feel free to reach out to us or if you have them on the platform, try to look them up and see where they can bring you to your next level journey. I think this concludes for us. So I want to introduce you the key takeaways from today. What we have learned is that Ecovartis is a strategic action planning with suppliers. It allows you to work with collaborative alignments. It improves transparency and engagement within your supply chain. And it also helps your supplier develop. Secondly, strategy and internal sustainability support. As Clara mentioned, all the work you do with Ecovartis should not just be a compliant exercise left on the shell and taking it up, you know, towards the end of the new resubmission. It's there to help you creating strategic roadmaps, allocate resources strategically and to help you to improve of where the improvement points are and to help you that cultural integration of sustainability. Lastly, but not least, it helps creating a proper CSR management system where with CSR we mean corporate for social responsibility. That is why it integrates Ecovartis metrics so that they are comparable across suppliers that have Ecovartis like you. It helps data-driven decision making tools like the Carbon Heatmap helps you to improve your greenhouse gas emissions. For example, on your greenhouse gas emissions. And then, of course, it helps on measure progress and tracking. I think that's all for us today. So Clara is coming back on stage with me and we move through a Q&A. And I can actually see that Sia has posed a question. Can you comment on how the Ecovartis methodology is aligned with the ESRS? So what we know from Ecovartis is that everything that is related to international policy and standards, like, for example, the standards that Sia is mentioning that guide the CSRD, the Corporate for Social Responsibility Directive, those are already included into the Ecovartis questionnaire. So Ecovartis is doing its best to include EU or American, depending on the regions where you are, standards or directives coming from, for example, the European Union. Great. I see there's another question from Gilles who is asking, how do the improvement areas work here? As in, if complete everything that is in the improvement areas provided by Ecovartis, how many points can I roughly gain? I think this is a great question. Of course, Ecovartis, so the way Ecovartis works is that they're going to showcase, as I showed in the, let's say, extended scorecard, they're going to showcase which areas of improvements you should focus on first. because these areas are also where you can, let's say, overall increase the score on your overall scorecard. So I would recommend that you would look at those things first. I would say, however, that it's not a correlation in the sense if you do all the things that Ecovartis wants, then that's where the journey ends and you're just going to jump to a platinum. That's not what we see. So we really encourage you to go through this process more incrementally and make small adjustments where you can and see how that will affect your scorecard overall. Thanks, Clara. Yes. And then we have one last question from Cisco. Thank you for posting. How you can ensure the accuracy and verification of the data provided from companies? Yes, that's also another very good question. So when you go through your Ecovartis score, there is a verification element from Ecovartis, but the questions are around if you have been, for example, had third party edited on your sustainability report. And if you have, you will definitely see an increased point on those specific answers where you use third party edited or third party verified documentation. Ecovartis also does internal scoring via and check on the the documents. There are certain criteria for which some documents can be accepted and not. So of course, this also plays a role, for example, on when this document has been published, right? If you just create something for the sake of Ecovartis, it's easy detectable, at least at what we have experienced. I see there are a lot more questions popping in the chat. But unfortunately, we have to close the session for today. And we will follow up directly with you and we will answer all the ones that we couldn't. Camilla, yes, we will share the presentation. Definitely. And you can expect it in your inbox in a few days. That's all for me and Clara. So thank you so much. Thank you very much for joining us today. Have a good day. Thank you.
